Nevada Brothel Directory: Current Legal Brothels

Last reviewed: August 2026

Finding an up-to-date list of legal Nevada brothels is harder than you might think. Some of the lists online include brothels that have been closed for years. Others are missing places that are currently operating. And sometimes it’s genuinely difficult to tell whether a brothel is open, temporarily closed or planning to reopen.

We tried to sort that out.

For this directory, Brothel Nevada reviewed county and city records, government meeting documents, official brothel websites and recent news reports. When the evidence wasn’t clear enough to say that a brothel is currently operating, we’ve said that too.

We can’t guarantee that every brothel listed as operating on this page is open today. What we can do is tell you what we found, when we found it and, when possible, link to the records we used.

We’ve also included approximate driving distances. Nevada is a big state, and simply saying that a brothel is in Elko County or Nye County doesn’t tell a visitor very much. Depending on where you’re going, the nearest legal brothel may be an hour away or several hundred miles away.

Legal brothels do not operate in Las Vegas or Reno themselves. Visitors looking for a legal brothel near Las Vegas generally travel to Pahrump or Amargosa Valley, while several of the brothels closest to Reno are located in Storey County and Mound House.

Nye County

Pahrump

Approximately 64 miles west of Las Vegas

Pahrump is the closest community to Las Vegas with legal brothels that appear to be operating. The drive usually takes a little over an hour, depending on where you’re starting in Las Vegas and traffic.

Sheri’s Ranch

Status we could verify: Appears to be operating. Nye County records from 2024 identify an existing brothel license for Sheri’s Ranch. A Nye County Sheriff’s Office report included in those records says quarterly inspections found the establishment in compliance with state and county regulations and suitable for conducting a brothel.

Location: 10551 S. Homestead Road, Pahrump, Nevada
Distance: Approximately 64 miles from Las Vegas
Official website: Sheri’s Ranch

Sheri’s Ranch is a legal brothel and adult resort located on about 20 acres outside Pahrump. The property also has an on-site hotel, bar and restaurant, pool and other resort amenities. Transportation from Las Vegas is available through the property.

Chicken Ranch

Status we could verify: Appears to be operating. Nye County records from 2024 document an existing brothel license for the Chicken Ranch. The Sheriff’s Office report included in the records says quarterly inspections found the establishment in compliance with state and county regulations.

Location: 10511 S. Homestead Road, Pahrump, Nevada
Distance: Approximately 64 miles from Las Vegas
Official website: Chicken Ranch

The Chicken Ranch is the other legal brothel currently operating in the Pahrump area. It is located near Sheri’s Ranch and maintains an active website with current visitor information.

Amargosa Valley

Approximately 90 miles northwest of Las Vegas

Alien Cathouse

Status we could verify: Appears to be operating. The property’s official web presence was active when we checked and continued to provide information about the Alien Cathouse.

Location: Amargosa Valley, Nevada
Distance: Approximately 93 miles from Las Vegas
Official website: Alien Cathouse

The Alien Cathouse is a science-fiction-themed legal brothel along U.S. Route 95 northwest of Las Vegas. It shares its location with the Area 51 Alien Center, a roadside travel center that’s hard to miss if you’re driving between Las Vegas and Beatty.

Crystal

Love Ranch South

Status we could verify: Closed.

Love Ranch South was a legal brothel in Crystal owned by the late Dennis Hof. Its licensing history became complicated in 2018, with county action against its license followed by litigation and a temporary reopening. The property is no longer operating as a legal brothel and has since been sold and demolished.

It shouldn’t be confused with the Love Ranch in Mound House. That’s a separate brothel and appears to still be operating.

Lyon County

Mound House

Approximately 35–38 miles southeast of Reno and about 7 miles east of Carson City

Mound House has one of the largest concentrations of legal brothels in Nevada. Several are located close together along or near Highway 50.

Moonlite Bunny Ranch

Status we could verify: Appears to be operating. Its official website was active during our August 2026 review and showed current activity at the Mound House property.

Location: Mound House, Nevada
Distance: Approximately 35–38 miles from Reno
Official website: Moonlite Bunny Ranch

The Moonlite Bunny Ranch is probably one of the best-known brothels in Nevada, in large part because of Dennis Hof and the years the property spent in the national spotlight through television and media coverage.

Love Ranch

Status we could verify: Appears to be operating. Recent material on the Bunny Ranch website references women working at the Love Ranch and identifies it as a sister property in northern Nevada.

Location: Mound House, Nevada
Distance: Approximately 35–38 miles from Reno
Official website: Love Ranch

This is not Love Ranch South, the former brothel in Crystal near Pahrump. The two properties shared a name under Dennis Hof’s ownership, which still causes some confusion in older articles and search results.

Sagebrush Ranch

Status we could verify: Appears to be operating. A current Lyon County property-tax record identifies Sagebrush Ranch at 51 Kit Kat Drive and shows its 2025/2026 personal property taxes paid.

Location: Mound House, Nevada
Distance: Approximately 35–38 miles from Reno
Official website: Sagebrush Ranch

Sagebrush Ranch is a long-established Mound House brothel located near the Bunny Ranch and Love Ranch. Its recent public activity was consistent with an operating business when we reviewed it.

Kit Kat Ranch

Status we could verify: Reopening pending following a 2023 fire.

Location: Mound House, Nevada
Distance: Approximately 35–38 miles from Reno
Official website: Kit Kat Ranch

A fire heavily damaged the Kit Kat Ranch in September 2023. KOLO reported that about half of the building was heavily affected. Nine employees evacuated and no injuries were reported.

Plans to reopen the Kit Kat have continued since the fire. At the time of this review, we weren’t able to verify that the brothel had reopened, so we’re listing its status as reopening pending rather than closed.

Storey County

Mustang Ranch

Approximately 11 miles east of Reno

Status we could verify: Appears to be operating. Storey County’s 2025 Year in Review mentions Mustang Ranch participating with Redwood Materials in a Thanksgiving food program for local families.

Location: Storey County, Nevada
Distance: Approximately 11 miles from Reno
Official website: Mustang Ranch

Mustang Ranch is one of the closest legal brothels to Reno and one of the most famous names in the history of Nevada prostitution. The current Mustang Ranch is not at the same location as the original brothel operated by Joe Conforte.

Mineral County

Mina

Approximately 168 miles southeast of Reno

Wild Cat

Status we could verify: Recently closed or inactive at last review.

Wild Cat had previously been reported as temporarily closed. More recent online listings continue to describe the property as temporarily closed or inactive, and we couldn’t find reliable evidence that it was currently operating. As of August 10, 2026, its publicly listed telephone number is disconnected.

We also didn’t find a recent government record formally declaring the brothel permanently closed. Because of that, we’re listing it as closed or inactive at the time of our review rather than making a more definitive claim.

Lander County

Battle Mountain

Approximately 218 miles east of Reno

Battle Mountain appears to have two operating legal brothels. One of them is missing from some of the Nevada brothel lists currently online.

Calico Club

Status we could verify: Appears to be operating.

Location: Battle Mountain, Nevada
Official website: Calico Club

Calico Club maintains an active website with its Battle Mountain address, phone number and current operating information. We also found recent material showing activity at the property.

Desert Club

Status we could verify: Appears to be operating.

Location: Battle Mountain, Nevada
Official website: Desert Club

Desert Club also maintains an active website with its Battle Mountain address, hours and visitor information. The site identifies the business as a legal, licensed Nevada brothel.

Elko County

Elko County has several legal brothels spread among Carlin, Elko and Wells. It’s also where some of the differences between older online directories and what we found became particularly noticeable.

Carlin

Approximately 269 miles east of Reno

Dovetail Ranch

Status we could verify: Recently closed. Brothel license revoked in August 2024.

Location: Carlin, Nevada

Dovetail Ranch is still included on some lists of Nevada’s legal brothels. City of Carlin records tell a different story. During an August 28, 2024 City Council meeting, the city attorney noted that the council had revoked Dovetail’s brothel license two weeks earlier.

For that reason, we’re keeping Dovetail in this directory so people looking for it can find current information, but we’re not counting it as an operating brothel.

Elko

Approximately 289 miles east of Reno

Desert Rose Gentlemen’s Club

Status we could verify: Appears to be operating.

Location: 357 Douglas Street, Elko, Nevada
Official website: Desert Rose

Desert Rose maintains an active website listing its Elko address, current hours and information about the women working at the establishment. We didn’t find anything during this review that indicated the brothel had stopped operating.

Inez’s D&D

Status we could verify: Appears to be operating. Elko City Council records from October 2025 identify Inez’s as an existing brothel business.

Location: Elko, Nevada
Status source: Elko City Council meeting records
Official website: Inez’s D&D

Inez’s is one of several brothels located in Elko. Recent city records give us better evidence of its status than simply relying on an online brothel directory.

Mona’s Ranch

Status we could verify: Appears to be operating. Elko City Council records from October 2025 identify Mona’s as an existing brothel business.

Location: Elko, Nevada
Status source: Elko City Council meeting records
Official website: Mona’s

Mona’s Ranch is another long-running Elko brothel. It appeared in the same recent city proceeding as Inez’s, with the city identifying the owner of both businesses.

Sue’s Fantasy Club

Status we could verify: Appears to be operating.

Location: 175 S. 3rd Street, Elko, Nevada
Status source: Elko County Assessor record
Official website: Sue’s Fantasy Club

Sue’s had licensing trouble in 2024, including a temporary suspension. More recently, the Elko County Assessor continued to maintain a business-equipment account for Sue’s Fantasy Club at 175 S. 3rd Street. The county classifies the use as “BRO – BROTHEL/BAR/REST,” and the record shows a January 21, 2026 billing date.

That doesn’t prove that Sue’s is open on any particular day. It does give us recent county information consistent with the business continuing to exist, which is why we’re listing it as appearing to be operating.

Wells

Approximately 60 miles west of the Nevada-Utah border at Wendover

If you’re coming from Utah, Wells makes much more sense geographically than it might appear on a Nevada map. The town is only about 60 miles from the state line at Wendover.

Bella’s Hacienda Ranch

Status we could verify: Appears to be operating.

Location: Wells, Nevada
Distance: Approximately 60 miles from the Utah border at Wendover
Official website: Bella’s Hacienda

Bella’s maintains an active website. Its Terms and Conditions, effective May 28, 2026, refer to reservations, guests, entertainers and people visiting the Wells property. We found no indication during our review that the brothel had stopped operating.

Donna’s Ranch

Status we could verify: Appears to be operating.

Location: 679 8th Street, Wells, Nevada
Distance: Approximately 60 miles from the Utah border at Wendover
Official website: Donna’s Ranch

Donna’s was reported temporarily closed during part of 2025. Its current website now lists business hours, an active lineup and the Wells address, so we’re listing Donna’s as appearing to be operating as of our August 2026 review.

White Pine County

Ely

Approximately 240 miles north of Las Vegas

Ely is one of the places where giving a simple answer about which brothels are open becomes difficult. Big 4 appears to be operating, Stardust has had periods of closure, and there’s now an announced attempt to bring back the Green Lantern name.

Big 4 Ranch

Status we could verify: Appears to be operating.

Location: 135 High Street, Ely, Nevada
Official website: Big 4 Ranch

Big 4 maintains an active website with its Ely address and phone number and was recruiting workers when we checked. Everything we found was consistent with the brothel continuing to operate.

Stardust Ranch

Status we could verify: Temporarily closed at last reliable review. We could not verify a reopening.

Location: Ely, Nevada

Stardust has had a complicated few years. It has gone through periods of closure and licensing issues, while City of Ely records continued to recognize the Stardust location in 2025.

The most recent information we found described Stardust as temporarily closed. We couldn’t find enough evidence to say that it had reopened by August 2026, so we’re leaving it in that category until better information becomes available.

Green Lantern

Status we could verify: Reopening announced for 2026, but not independently verified.

Location: Ely, Nevada
Official website: Green Lantern

The original Green Lantern closed in 1999. A current website using the Green Lantern name says the brothel is reopening in 2026.

There is at least some interesting activity on the government side. City of Ely records from 2025 show discussion of changes to the area where prostitution is permitted, including the location of the old Green Lantern. What we haven’t found is a public record showing that a new Green Lantern has actually opened.

For now, we’re treating this for what it is: an announced reopening that we haven’t been able to independently verify.

How We Maintain This Directory

There isn’t one reliable statewide list that tells you which Nevada brothels are open right now. That’s part of the reason we created this page.

Brothels are regulated locally, so the information is scattered. We looked through county and city records, meeting minutes, licensing documents, assessor records, brothel websites and recent news coverage. In some cases, there was strong government documentation. In others, the best evidence we could find was a current website and recent activity at the property.

We gave more weight to government records when they were available. We also tried not to make assumptions when the information didn’t support them. An active website doesn’t necessarily mean a brothel is open today, just as a temporary closure doesn’t necessarily mean a brothel is gone for good.

That’s why you’ll see phrases such as “appears to be operating,” “temporarily closed at last review” and “reopening announced but not independently verified” throughout this page.

We can’t promise that we’ve gotten every status right. We can be clear about where the information came from and update the page when better information becomes available.
